Graduation Celebration


We look forward to celebrating together as the Class of 2018 graduates on Saturday, June 2, 2018.  Commencement is a special time and it is important that you carefully follow these instructions:

Report promptly to all the sessions you are required to attend for final exams and graduation exercises.

Attendance is mandatory for the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday if you plan to participate in Commencement.

Take care of all obligations to the school prior to Commencement. Return all textbooks, library books, athletic equipment, and pay any debts owed to the school.

Any senior who is more than one course short of the credit requirement for graduation will not be permitted to participate in Commencement.

Please pay close attention to the following schedule of activities:

FINAL EXAM AND COMMENCEMENT SCHEDULE

Friday, May 25 - Final Exams 
Test periods 1/2 and 5/6
School day ends at 2:20 pm

Tuesday, May 29 - Final Exams
Test periods 3/4 and 7/8
School day ends at 2:20 pm (Last day for seniors)

Wednesday, May 30 - Senior Walk
Seniors report to the HS Auditorium at 9:00 am to receive their cap & gown and additional instructions - seniors will not attend regular classes if all final exams have been completed (exchange for attending rehearsal on Thursday)

Thursday, May 31 - Baccalaureate/Commencement rehearsal (mandatory)
Report to the High School Auditorium at 10:30 am

Last day for Underclassmen
Seniors will not attend classes (exchange for attending rehearsal on Friday)

Baccalaureate Service at 7:00 pm in the HS Auditorium
Seniors report to the HS Gymnasium at 6:15 pm

Friday, June 1 - Commencement rehearsal (mandatory)
Seniors report to the HS Auditorium at 9:00 am and will finish on Kaley Field

Senior Luncheon immediately following rehearsal, sponsored by the GAHS National Honor Society, Class of 2018, and area businesses

Saturday, June 2 - Commencement Exercises at 10:00 am on Kaley Field
Graduates report to the Primary School at 9:00 am
(In case of inclement weather, tickets for auditorium seating will be distributed to students during rehearsal on Friday)

RECOMMENDED ATTIRE FOR GRADUATES

Ladies Street-length dress, dress shoes (flats)
No spiked heels will be permitted on the track/turf field


Gentlemen - Dress shirts and pants, neckties preferred
Dark socks and dress shoes


*Please note: To preserve the track and turf at Kaley Field, we request that all friends and family members entering the field after graduation refrain from wearing shoes with spiked heels.
