Welcome to GAHS Special Education

The special education program at the Greencastle-Antrim High School offers a continuum of services to meet the individualized needs of students. Intervention is focused on the whole child. We developed our programs to meet social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs. Parents, administration, high school teachers, related service providers and high school staff work together as a multidisciplinary team, collaborating to develop differentiated curricula. They ensure that students have equal access to grade level curriculum as appropriate. When fitting, we use alternative curricula to meet student needs. We place a strong emphasis on a rigorous instructional delivery of the following curricula.

We focus on transition skills needed for life after graduation. Support periods provide ongoing assistance in a structured, small group setting. Students may attend the Franklin County Career and Technology Center (FCCTC), where they also receive learning support services. Additionally, seniors have the opportunity to participate in a work study program.
